Influencer Melanie Lattanzi has spoken out after the sentence of 17 years and six months in prison imposed on her partner Rodolfo 'Fofo' Márquez for attempted feminicide against Edith 'N'. In her statements, Melanie expressed her desire not to be involved in something for which she has no responsibility or deserves.
Regarding the case, the influencer declared: "I will never justify, support, or defend what he did, and I will also never understand what happened; regardless, I want to ask you to stop inciting more hate and more violence, that is not synonymous with justice. Out of respect for my process and my mental health, I will not address the topic further on my social media."
Additionally, Melanie Lattanzi reported receiving threats of various kinds, putting her physical, mental, and emotional safety, as well as that of her family, at risk. She has had to face defamations and serious accusations, all without the necessary interest in knowing her true story. The influencer emphasized that assumptions on social media do not define her and highlighted that acting from love is more powerful than any attack.
Regarding her relationship with 'Fofo' Márquez, it was clarified that, although it has been speculated that they married in the Barrientos prison in the State of Mexico (currently at the CPRS in Texcoco), they only have a cohabitation certificate, as explained by Melanie's mother.
Melanie Lattanzi, with 115 thousand followers on Instagram, shared her first words after the sentence, stating that she has decided to remain silent to not be part of a harmful cycle. In her words, the influencer calls to stop inciting hate and violence, highlighting the difficult months lived since the incident in February 2024.
